ALERT-- The Physician Assisted Suicide (PAS) bill has been reported favorably by the Joint Committee on Public Health. It is not to late too stop this legislation from becoming a law in Massachusetts. Click above to visit MA Bishops website for more information.
We had no idea what we would experience in terms of attendance when we "opened up" and were able to celebrate weekday and weekend Masses. That is why I kept the normal schedule until we see what the attendance would be like. On May 31, the Feast of Pentecost, we had 24 individuals at the Sunday 5 p.m. Mass. This past Sunday, June 7, excluding the 4 Knights who were present top assist with the seating before and the sanitizing afterwards, there were 17 people. In light of this, I am suspending the Sunday 5 p.m. Mass until further notice. I will be happy to bring it back when there appears a need. Fr. Michael
Due to the low attendance at the Masses this past weekend, we will not be having Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament this coming Friday, June 5th. The Blessed Sacrament can never be left unattended. I would be happy to cover but I will be concelebrating a funeral in New Bedford at 10 a.m., and I do not want to risk a time when no one is in the Church. We will reevaluate again prior to the First Friday in July.
