This year’s Giving Tree will be VIRTUAL. If you wish to support West Side Benevolent Society with this project, please click above to see the list of the families in need. All gifts will need to be returned unwrapped with the designated child number marked on the bag/item by the weekend of December 5th/6th to the back of the church. If you prefer to purchase a gift card, we are in need of cards from Target, Best Buy, Amazon and Kohl's. Please drop off at the church by Dec. 5th/6th.
ALERT-- The Physician Assisted Suicide (PAS) bill has been reported favorably by the Joint Committee on Public Health. It is not too late to stop this legislation from becoming a law in Massachusetts.

We had no idea what we would experience in terms of attendance when we "opened up" and were able to celebrate weekday and weekend Masses. That is why I kept the normal schedule until we see what the attendance would be like. On May 31, the Feast of Pentecost, we had 24 individuals at the Sunday 5 p.m. Mass. This past Sunday, June 7, excluding the 4 Knights who were present top assist with the seating before and the sanitizing afterwards, there were 17 people. In light of this, I am suspending the Sunday 5 p.m. Mass until further notice. I will be happy to bring it back when there appears a need. Fr. Michael
Due to the low attendance at the Masses this past weekend, we will not be having Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament this coming Friday, June 5th. The Blessed Sacrament can never be left unattended. I would be happy to cover but I will be concelebrating a funeral in New Bedford at 10 a.m., and I do not want to risk a time when no one is in the Church. We will reevaluate again prior to the First Friday in July.
Diocese Opens Churches Sat., May 30, at 4 p.m. Regular Schedule that Weekend; Schedule may be modified thereafter. Click to read restrictions PLEASE NOTE: While the Church will be reopening on Saturday, May 30, at 4 p.m., we want everyone to know that Bishop da Cunha has extended the dispensation from the obligation to attend weekend Mass and remains in effect until further notice.
Due to the coronavirus limiting our interactions, the Catholic Woman's Club has decided to postpone drawing the winners of the April Calendar until June or perhaps September (the next 30 day months).
Daily and weekend Masses will be suspended as of tomorrow. This includes other Liturgical celebrations such as Exposition of the Eucharist, Stations of the Cross and Benediction. Click above to see updates to the response by our Diocese to the Coronavirus.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we have cancelled the Parish Social. The committee will be meeting to plan an event later in the year. Details will be forthcoming once an event date is set.
