Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament and Solemn Benediction will take place this Friday, December 2nd, following the 7:30 a.m. Mass and will continue with Divine Mercy at 3 p.m. and will conclude with Benediction which begins at 5:30 p.m. All are invited to spend some time in quiet prayer with our Lord - come for even 15 minutes to spend time in the Real Presence of God! Sign up sheets are at all the entrances.
Our annual parish Mass to celebrate Thanksgiving will be held on Monday, November 21st, at 6:30 p.m. All are invited to participate in the offertory procession by bringing non-perishable food or a donation for our St. Vincent de Paul Food Drive. We hope you will join us around our family table as we give thanks to God for His many blessings. There will still be Mass on Thanksgiving Day at 8 a.m.
This year, like last year, the Giving Tree will be a Virtual Giving Tree. All gifts will need to be returned unwrapped with the designated child number marked on the bag/item by the weekend of December 3rd/4th to the back of the church. If you prefer to purchase a gift card, Catholic Social Services are requesting gift cards from Target, Walmart, Amazon and grocery stores. Those also can be left in the back of the church the weekend of December 3rd/4th.
The Diocese of Fall River has submitted to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops its report for the Synod on Synodality, providing a summary of key themes and takeaways from local consultative outreach earlier this year. The diocesan submission will become part of a comprehensive national report prepared for the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops at the Vatican in 2023. The Bishops of the United States are calling for a three-year grassroots revival of devotion and belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. They believe that God wants to see a movement of Catholics across the United States, healed, converted, formed, and unified by an encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist—and sent out in mission “for the life of the world.”
This Wednesday, December 8th, is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a holyday. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 7th, at 4 p.m. and on Wednesday, December 8th, at 8 a.m., 9 a.m. (school Mass), and 7 p.m. As is customary, donations at these Masses will assist the Saint Vincent de Paul Society in their important work here in parish helping those in need.
